Timeline for Selling
Selling a house is a major undertaking that can take anywhere from 2-4 months from start to finish just to get the listing active. But what most sellers miss is that they should be preparing even prior to this phase. At The Realty Shop, we know that as soon as you decide to sell your house, you need to jump right into researching real estate agents to find someone with the right experience for your situation.
We recommend at least two months before you plan to list, consider getting a pre-sale home inspection. It is best to identify any problem areas—especially structural or mechanical issues—that might need addressing to facilitate a sale. You'll want to make sure to leave enough time to schedule necessary repairs.
Check out our full checklist below of things to do before listing your home. Through our partner relationships at The Realty Shop, we have experts we can recommend at every step of the process:

Timeline for Buying
You may have been thinking about buying a home for months—maybe even years. Now that you're ready, you're probably wondering how long it will take until you get to pick up the keys and what all do really need to think about. Of course, the time it takes to find a home you love is going to vary, but the average timeline to close a mortgage is just 42 days.
To help you know what to expect at each step along the way, we've laid out a typical timeline for the services you may need throughout the home-buying journey. Here's what you can expect—and don't forget—The Realty Shop is here to help with it all. We have the best vendors and agents in the industry, and will ensure to take the stress out of moving as much as possible.
The average home search takes about 10 weeks when you are seriously looking, so it's important to start prepping 6+ months in advance of your desired closing date.
